La Introducción
You are the editor of the local newspaper. You are lucky to be living in such interesting times! Something of dire importance (and interest to the public) has happened in the life of a famous person (choose one). You, as the "editor-in-chief" have to put out a "Special Edition" - so you need to assemble your "staff" (4-5 fellow students) quickly, call on your "special editors," plan the content and layout and produce your Edición Especial! ¿Qué oportunidad!

1. Go to the "Personajes" page by clicking on the highlighted "famous person" in the Introduction and choose one for each group of 4 students.
You will have to divide the newspaper into different areas.
*Research of famous person
*Sports writer (Find information about the sports from your famous persons country)
*Weather editor (What is the country like? Tell your readers what the weather is like what the country is like)
*Current Events editor (What are some interesting things that are going on in your famous persons country?)
2. Search the Web for any information on your favorite person.
Where did they live?
When did they live there?
What note-worthy events occurred in this person's life?
What was the political climate of the time?
What was happening in the arts at the time?
What was occurring elsewhere in the world at that time?3. Find out the typical weather conditions at the time of your chosen event so the weather editor may write his/her column. Tell your readers what the country is like and what the weather will be like for the next week if possible. This way if your readers want to take a trip they will be able to travel and on the best day to see first hand your famous persons country.
4. Check out any links to sports popular at the time so that the "sports editor" may complete his/her column. What are some of the sports that are played in your famous persons country. What are some of the teams and what were some of the scores. Create a couple of PowerPoint Slides where you will give some important information about a sports figure. You may include pictures.
5. Add appropriate articles on current events relating to the time of the headline story. You have to come up with a title for your special edition and make a connection between your famous person and their country.
6. Include advertisements appropriate to the times. Go to your famous persons web site and find any ads that your readers could use if they were to go to that country.
7. Include an "Arts" page. Go to your famous persons country web site and find the name of a museum and copy one of the pictures that will be used in your PowerPoint Presentation.
8. Include a "Travel and Leisure" column. Find three locations to visit. These could be museums, churches or other points of interest. Include price information and a brief description of each place (or even a downloaded photo!)
All of this will be put together into a PowerPoint presentation that will be presented on Monday of next week. This assignment is worth 100 pts. The group will receive the same score so you should choose wisely your group.
You presentation will be organized in what ever way you want. You must have slides where everyone presents what they found about the author. You should create your own slides (max of 3 per person) and then combine them into one PowerPoint Presentation where your group will get up and present their information.
You should have 3 slides for each of the following jobs. If you are the writer then you need to create 3 slides with pictures and anything that will make your section interesting.

When you have completed your PowerPoint Presentation you will have a total of 15 slides
You will need a title slide (Include your group Members and what they did. Example Jose Sports Writer)
3 individual slides per person
A pictures slide of the country. Include any picture you want of animals native to your famous person country or anything that was interesting to you.
Links Slide where you will have the URL to your sources. Copy and paste where you found the information and who used it. Example Jose Sports Writer http://www.hehs.d211.org/sports/index.html
Your picture will be taken on Monday and will be added to your presentation at a later late and will be published on the internet.
