George Kazlusky

Hi - I'm Mr. Kazlusky, and I'm in my sixth year as the college and career consultant here at HEHS.  Some of you might recognize my voice (if not my name) because I announce all football and basketball (both boys and girls) games along with boys volleyball matches here at HEHS.

      HEHS College/Career Resource Center

While I am relatively new to HEHS, I'm certainly no stranger to the college admission process and helping students with post-secondary choices.  For the past fifteen summers, I have run a college visitation tour for high school counselors where we see between 8-12 schools in certain states or areas of the country.  For example, last summer I spent the last two weeks of July running two tours of 30 counselors each visiting institutions in Maine, New Hampshire and Vermont.  This coming summer I will take 40 counselors to visit colleges in Iowa.  I would estimate that, overall, I've seen about 325 colleges and universities.  I think through these visits I have developed a real "feel" for many of these campuses, which helps me when I try to "match" high school students with institutions.  In addition to my college experience, I have also done lots of work with other post-secondary options like the military, apprenticeships, and trade and technical schools.  Finally, I feel I have a good knowledge of computerized career and college search programs and have done extensive work coordinating career "expo" and job shadowing programs.

I hope you'll come in and see the new, improved College and Career Resource Center, use some of our resources, and/or maybe make an appointment to talk to me about the next crucial time of your life, your life after high school!
