Choosing a career path ranks among the most important and difficult choices facing high school students. After all, students seldom get to "try on" careers, yet they are expected to begin studying or training for their life's work right out of high school. Careers don't just happen; they must be built.
Hoffman Estates High School and Township High School District 211 provide a number of important career exploration resources to make career planning easier. Several of them are highlighted here.
Students, take time to build your career path. Check the morning announcements, hallway posters, and the College and Career Resource Center, Room 147, for information about upcoming college and career events. They are available to all students.
Career Treks - Career Treks provide broad-based workplace experiences for groups of students with similar career interest. They almost always take place during the school day, and bus transportation is provided to and from school.
Assessment and Consultation - A 15-minute lunchtime appointment with your Career Advisor is all it takes to get started. Take a quick career assessment to begin your career planning and sign up for future career explorations in your area of interest. Visit the College and Career Resource center today!
