Drug Internet Project

(HEHS website, media center, assignments)

1.                  Groups of 2 or 3

2.                  You will be assigned a drug to research

3.                  The following must be included in your project          

           

·        History or Origin of the drug  (timeline)

·        Drug Classification (category)

·        What the drug is made of

·        Effects on the body -- Long and Short term

·        Tolerance   (yes or no)

·        Dependence levels  (Physiological, Psychological)

·        Length of high and how long the drug stays in the body           

·        Nicknames of the Drug

·        Form the drug comes in (pill, powder, etc)

·        Chart or graph describing the use of your drug (will need to explain your understanding of what the graph entails)

·        Anti Drug Commercial

·         Other information you find interesting & appropriate 

 

4.                  Be creative as to how you want to present this material

Some examples:

·        Skit                                          ***MUST TURN IN A WRITTEN

·        News Broadcast                       PRODUCT ON DAY YOU

·        Movie                                      PRESENT.  Ex: written scripts,

·        Power Point                             notecards, poster, printout of

·        Poster                                      powerpoint slides, etc.  Also, must

include a list of web & other sources

used.  A minimum of 3 websites must be used.

5.                  Grading:  100 points

               Creativity – 10 points

 Presentation – 10 points

 Product - 25 points  (information, organization, & effort)        

                         Written Product turned in- 5 points

                                    (total points will be multiplied by 2)

                *If you do not present on day assigned, your grade will be lowered by one letter grade per day late.

 

6.                  Web sites that MAY be used to find information (make sure you are using reliable sites--.org, .gov, .edu)
