Thursday = Tech and Build a Banner Day.  On this day, you will “be” a techie.  This means you should “act” as if you are backstage during a performance by dressing in black and whispering quietly throughout the day.  At the end of the day you (on your own or with another initiate) will build a theatre banner based on your interpretation of out Thespian motto “Act well your part, therein all the honor lies.”  Design and materials for the banner are your choice.  It must be dropped off in the English Office on Monday so it may be displayed during the initiation ceremony.

Friday = Theatrical Character Day.  Through the use of costume, posture, accent, etc., create a character from any of the above musicals or theatrical

productions and maintain that character throughout the entire school day.  Your advocate may choose to assign you a character.  You are on your own

for costumes because our costume room is closed; we’ve instituted a policy limiting costume use in order to reduce loss.

Monday = Theater Quote Day.  Each of you will be given a quotation related to some aspect of the theater that you must memorize.  You will also be given a sign reading “Ask me for my lines” to wear today.  When someone does indeed ask you for your lines, you must recite your assigned quotation.  This will be part of the initiation ceremony as well.  In addition to knowing the quote, you must also identify the speaker of your quote and assume his/her character for the day.  Dress appropriately and act appropriately and speak appropriately!
