Flags Squad

The Flag Squad creates a visual experience to entertain the crowds and promote spirit at home football and basketball games and pep assemblies. They perform with the band during football season and to popular taped music at basketball half times and assemblies. The Flag Squad also represents the school in Illinois Drill Team Association competitions. The Skyhawks are 2003 and 2004 IDTA State Champions, and the 2007 runner-up for Lyrical Flag Categaory. No experience is necessary to audition for J. J.V. Skyhawks, and the girls learn a lot more than just how to spin a flag; they learn teamwork, self-discipline, and how to be performers!  Tryouts are held in the spring for the Varsity flag squad.
