It's
that time once again for Hoffman Estates High School to host a blood drive.
This year, the event will take place on Thursday November 8, 2007
during the school day. Student Council would greatly appreciate it
if you could take time out of your schedule to donate!
For every person who donates blood, three lives will be saved. This is the reason why it is so important for our staff and students to give blood. In order to be eligible to donate blood, students and staff must:
- be at least
16 years old to donate (16 and 17 year olds can donate with a parent permission
form)
- weigh
at least 110 pounds
- be
in good health, however, most medications and medical conditions will
keep you from being able to donate
- have
not given blood within the past 52 days
- have
not traveled to a malaria zone within a year (not out of the country within the
three months)
- have
not gotten a tattoo within a year
- have
not gotten their ears pierced at home within a year (Professional establishments
(Claire's Boutique) are excluded from this)
* Blood will be taken
