Co-Curricular Ensembles

There are many opportunities to sing outside of the classroom. These ensmebles are only available to students who are currently enrolled in a music class. They include:


Madrigal Singers

Madrigal Singers

A small mixed ensemble that sings for concerts and performs at community appearances throughout the year. During the first semester, musical focus is primarily on the performance of early music in a stylistically correct manner. During December the group performs seasonal music and members are committed to several performances, including the annual madrigal dinner. Auditions are held at the end of the previous school year.



VJE

Vocal Jazz Ensemble

A small mixed ensemble that sings for concerts and performs at other community appearances throughout the year. Musical focus is primarily on jazz literature written after 1920, with opportunities to grow through solos and improvisation. Participants are expected to participate in the IMEA Vocal Jazz auditions.





VoiceMale

VoiceMale

A select ensemble open to all men that will sing for concerts and other opportunities that arise. Musical focus is on development of small group skills and working towards a characteristic male choir sound. Auditions will be held at the beginning of second semester.



TrebleMakers

The TrebleMakers

A select ensemble open to all women that will sing for concerts and any other opportunities that arise. Musical focus is on development of small group skills and concepts of individuality and blend. Auditions will be held at the beginning of second semester.
