Curricular Choirs

Hoffman Estates High School offers three curricular choir classes for various levels of singers. They include:


Concert Choir

Concert Choir

Students who have successfully mastered objectives associated with fundamental choral classes as set forth by the director, may be considered for enrollment at this level. Membership in this highly selective group must also be based on the maintenance of proper choral balance. Special attention is given to artistic performances, individual growth and group dynamics. A variety of advanced choral literature is studied and the highest degree of excellence in all aspects of choral singing is expected. In addition to singing at a number of concerts, the choir performs at various school, civic and related functions. Members also have the opportunity to participate in numerous co-curricular ensembles.



Hoffman Singers

Hoffman Singers

An advanced chorus open to female students in grade levels 10, 11 and 12 with previous choral experience. Students will  learn and reinforce advanced concepts of tone production, part-singing and music theory. A variety of advanced choral literature is studied and attention to detail in all aspects of choral singing is expected. In addition to singing at a number of concerts, the choir performs at various civic and related functions. Members also have the opportunity to participate in numerous co-curricular ensembles.



Vocal Ensemble

A mid-level chorus open to students in grade levels 9, 10, 11 and 12 with some choral experience. Students continue to learn the fundamentals of tone production, part-singing and music theory. They will reinforce the foundations necessary to progress to more advanced groups. In addition to singing at a number of concerts, members have the opportunity to participate in numerous co-curricular ensembles.



Women's Chorale

Women's Chorale

An entry-level chorus open to female students with no high school choral experience (grade level 9). Students are taught the basic fundamentals of tone production, part-singing and music theory. They receive the foundations necessary to progress to more advanced groups. In addition to singing at a number of concerts, members have the opportunity to participate in numerous co-curricular ensembles.
