English 308: Accelerated Junior English
This accelerated course involves a thorough study of American literary and philosophical trends as reflected in the works of America’s prominent writers. Students share their insights and interpretations of the literature through class discussion and writing. The writing program emphasizes independent and critical thinking abilities, culminating in the writing of a literary research paper. The principles of the fine arts are integrated into the language arts curriculum.

Current Topics in English 308:
Literature: Classical Readings, Criticisms, and many other forms of literature are emphasized throughout this accelerated course. Current Reading: The Scarlet Letter
Writing: Composition is also heavily emphasized. Unique writing styles and more in-depth detail is stressed.
Prerequisite: E208 English 2 (A,B) or E202 English 2 with department recommendation
