B163 Computer Applications


Computer Applications uses the Microsoft Office 2000 suite to complete the introductory course designed to develop keyboarding, word processing, and computer skills. Software used includes Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, and Publisher. Features such as merge, macros, sort, labels, and templates are explored in the preparation of research papers, multiple-page reports, letters, memos, and tables. Fonts, graphics, and color are combined in the development of desktop publishing documents. Grammar and proofreading skills are included. Speed and accuracy are emphasized to increase skill for computer use. Internet activities including designing a personal web page are used to enhance instruction.

Prerequisite:  B162 Computer Literacy.
